Phone Calls in the Contemporary Iranian Narrations as a Way of Transcending to the Idealized Communication
By "call-disturber" in the Iranian model of human relations I mean this kind of telephone mistakes, which systematically recur and change to an intimate call-relation. It is probable, that one can examine this kind of calls in the other societies too but I do not know any sociological or psychosociological analysis of this specific kind of human communication. The confirmation of its relevance in the way of self-perception of the Iranians is a recurance of its motif in the contemporary narrations.
In this paper I would like to examine two cases of call-disturber, first is performed in Golshiri's "Ayneha-ye dar dar" and the second in Miss Tahere Alavi's story entitled "Disappearnce of an Ordinary Woman". In these cases an accidental phone call provides a pivotal place in the heros existention, moreover in Alavi's story it generates its own fictional world.
The main point of this paper is that this kind of phone communication is a realisation of the lyrical/ mystical/ paradigme of understanding beyond the words.
